Mrs. Maltzman heads the firm’s employment practice. She represents large and small businesses in a diverse range of employment matters such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She has extensive experience in both state and federal courts and at administrative proceedings before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Furthermore, Mrs. Maltzman is also experienced with management and training guidance, policy draft and implementation, disability and accessibility issues, and audit programs.
By effectively combining her practical management background with her extensive litigation experience involving the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Florida Civil Rights Act, Mrs. Maltzman specializes in providing companies with proactive and realistic resolutions to their employment problems. She frequently conducts training seminars and classes on timely HR and employment law topics such as diversity, avoiding employment lawsuits, and effective dealings with the EEOC for in-house personnel.
Before joining Maltzman Foreman, Anamarie was an attorney at Steel Hector & Davis and served for two years as a federal law clerk to the Hon. Úrsula Úngaro-Benages. Prior to embarking on her second career as a lawyer, she worked for many years in a variety of bank management positions including Branch Manager, District Customer Service Manager, and Special Programs Manager for a major California bank. Mrs. Maltzman’s extensive management background (which encompassed managing the service and personnel-related aspects of up to 20 bank branches and 250 employees), professional experiences, and legal expertise has fostered her unique ability to advise employers and assist them in avoiding employment problems from both a practical and legal perspective.
She is frequently called upon to:
-
Represent businesses in all types of employment-related claims, charges, and litigation, including administrative proceedings before federal and state agencies and commissions.
-
Supervise and conduct internal investigations and workplace audits with a focus on compliance with applicable law.
-
